Thank you for your interest in Brett’s Blankets! Brett’s Blankets was founded in 2004 in memory of my son, Brett, who passed away from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) at just three months old. Brett loved to cuddle and play in the no-sew, fleece blankets that his grandmother made him.
After his passing, we thought it a fitting tribute to make these blankets for children in need. The first year of Brett’s Blankets, 15 friends and family members gathered, and together we made 60 blankets for children in the Central Texas area. This event helped begin our healing process and has continued to do so for the past 5 years.
As we are about to celebrate Brett’s Blankets 6th anniversary, we are exciting to know that we have been supported by hundreds of volunteers, made over 800 blankets and sent our blankets to the needy not only in our community, but throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe.
I find happiness, joy and comfort in knowing that my little bluebird, Brett, continues to touch the lives of so many.
